ごあいさつ

このフェスティバルの主催者である東京中低域というバンドが2025年に結成25周年を迎えました。バリトンサックス・プレイヤーばかり10人（現在は13人）でこのバンドを結成しなければ、バリトンサックス・フェスティバルなんてイベントが開催されるようなことはなかったかも知れません。大地震や大雪やパンデミックなんてことの続いたこの25年間、バリトンサックス人口が増えたのやら減ったのやら、どうやって数えたら良いかわからないけれど、バリトンサックスの音を聴いたオーディエンスの人数は間違いなく増えたはずです、このフェスのせいで、東京中低域のせいで。ちょっと変わったフェスですが、今まで興味のなかった人々がマイノリティの声（音）を聴いてみるって、こういう楽しいことから始めるのもありですよね。今年も常軌を逸したラインナップになっております、どうか気をしっかり持ってお楽しみ下さい！ : 水谷紹［東京中低域］

From the festival organiser

The organisers of the festival, a band called Tokyo Chutei Iki, celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2025. Without the formation of this band of ten (now thirteen) baritone saxophone players, the Baritone Saxophone Festival might never have taken place. I don't know how to count whether the population of baritone saxophonists has increased or decreased in the last 25 years, which have been full of major earthquakes, heavy snowfall and pandemics. But the number of people who have heard the sound of the baritone saxophone has definitely increased, because of this festival, because of Tokyo Chutei Iki. A slightly quirky festival, but it's also a fun way for people who were not previously interested in hearing the voices (sounds) of minorities to start with something fun like this.
